Alexandria — The Bibliotheca Alexandrina, in collaboration with the Swedish Museum of Textile History and the Swedish Institute, is organizing an exhibition entitled "Tutankhamen"s Wardrobe: A Reconstruction of the Textiles of Tutankhamun"s Treasure". The exhibition displays the meticulously created reconstruction of the nearly 3500 years old clothes of the Pharaoh Tutankhamen. Dr. Ismail Serageldin, Director, Bibliotheca Alexandrina and H.E. Stig Elvemar, Ambassador of Sweden, will inaugurate the exhibition on 29 March 2006.

It is worth noting that the exhibition was on display on October 1999 till February 2000 and was inaugurated by H.M. Queen Silvia, at the Textilmuseet, Sweden. This exhibition displayed “reconstructions” of the clothing worn by the young pharaoh 3500 years ago, after which it moved on to other venues including museums in Europe, USA and Egypt.
