The Planetarium Science Center, affiliated to the Bibliotheca Alexandrina Cultural Outreach Sector, organizes the 17th edition of the annual event “Science Festivity” on 26 and 27 September 2024.
Science Festivity is a public event that aims at promoting science in society, providing an opportunity for public of all ages and cultural backgrounds to question, debate, and explore through a variety of interactive activities. The festivity will be held in the Science Village, which includes various exhibition units that host different displays and interactive activities.
The main theme of this year’s festivity is “Science in Ancient Egypt”, where several workshops will be held highlighting scientific fields in ancient Egypt, such as medicine, engineering, mummification, agriculture, ancient industries, hieroglyphic writing, and papermaking. Moreover, the event will take you in a virtual tour inside the tomb of the king “Tutankhamun”. You will also enjoy interactive shows entitled “Egyptian Queens”, “The Journey”, and “King Ahmose”.
Entry is free of charge upon prior reservation due to capacity limitation. Noting that the activities and events are targeting school students from ages 4–18 years old and will be held in the Science village (BA Plaza), and the BA Conference Center.

The event will be divided into 3 periods as follows:
- A morning period: 10:00 am – 12:00 pm
- An afternoon period dedicated to school reservations (KG, Primary, and Middle grades): 12:00–2:00 pm
- A second afternoon period dedicated to individuals and families: 2:00–4:00 pm

The event will be divided into 3 periods as follows:
- A morning period: 10:00 am – 1:00 pm.
- Break during Jumu’ah prayer: 1:00–2:00 pm.
- An afternoon period: 2:00–5:00 pm.
