A Ghost Star
Photo by Aymen Ibrahem, Senior Astronomy Specialist
On 8 July 2007, BA Senior Astronomy Specialist Aymen Ibrahem, made an interesting observation of sunset. There were clouds across the western horizon, rendering the setting Sun a fascinating appearance.
"The Sun shone through relatively thin clouds, as it declined in the horizon," said Ibrahem. "In a high zoom level, the Sun appeared as a bloated, nearly transparent red star."
A boat crossed the view, adding to the beauty of the scene. Ibrahem named his series of pictures "A Ghost Star".
