"Corruption Perception Index in Egypt"
The Egyptian Cabinet’s Information and Decision Support Center (IDSC) relies on quantitative analysis as one of the key scientific tools used to support decision makers, especially when proposing corrective policies in the different development fields, as well as taking the necessary safeguards to deal with different development issues.
In this framework, the IDSC closely monitors Egypt’s position/rank with respect to the international indicators map, with a special focus on areas of high impact on several international indicators.
The Corruption perception Index is considered one of the important indicators – not only on Egypt’s position/rank in the international governance map – but also because of its impact on a number of other indicators, namely: Governance, Doing Business, Investment, Global Peace and other indicators influencing investment decisions in Egypt, and foreign investment preferences.
Accordingly it is in the interest of the government in general and IDSC in specific to employ quantitative analytical tools to identify spatial, sectoral, and procedural priorities that will contribute to a rapid qualitative leap in the value of the index, and will reflect on the improvement of the internal business environment and Egypt’s external/international image.
