In 1956, in Minamata City, located along the Yatsushiro Sea
coast in Kumamoto Prefecture, the first Minamata disease patient
was reported initially as suffering from nervous symptoms of the
unknown cause.
In 1965, another similar epidemic-Minamata disease patients were reported in the Agano River basin in Niigata Prefecture. |
