- In this slide we present seroprevalence of toxoplasmosis in differently exposed South American children (1-6 years; data from Frenkel et al, 1995. Am. J. Trop. Med. Hyg., 53: 458-468). -We would expect that children in contact with cats were more frequently seropositive than those in contact with other animals, but this idea is not in agreement with this figure. - Could you provide an explanation for this fact? (a little clue: dogs are sometimes coprophagous and also roll in feces).
