World hurricane tracks relating to infectious
disease distributions are poorly known. These relations are changing and are not
necessarily well mapped. The climatic and disease predictions of one year from another
cannot yet be approached with confidence. Aedes aegypti is
a nightime-biting city mosquito, whereas the others including the daytime culicines
carriers of equine encephalitis and West Nile viruses favor rural habitats, true also for Aedes
albopictus, although it is somewhat city-adapted. Dengue is a per city problem,
whereas some other virus diseases like equine encephilitis have long distance patterns
like Colombia to the US under hurricane influence. |
