Random error can be reduced with careful measurement of
exposure and outcome. This will make individual measurements as precise as possible. We can never completely eliminate random error because we are usually only studying a sample of the population. Sampling error usually occurs as part of the process of selecting study participants who are always a sample of a larger population. The best way to reduce sampling error is to increase the sample size. And, individuals do differ, and no measurement is ever completely accurate. |
