A hypersensitivity reaction causes skin problems, including persistent urticaria, pruritus and facial edema. An increase in lymphocytes in the spleen and lymph nodes can lead to fibrosis. Monocytes, macrophages and plasma cells infiltrate blood vessels, causing and increased vascular permeability.
