In the
most recent versions of Scotland's
primary care computing system, GPASS, there are a lot more facilities to try
to improve on the unaided human brain. This tries to encourage structured data
recording for the types of consultations, where such an approach is possible.
For this type of consultation which is less than 5% of a practice workload,
20-40 minutes per consultation is required.
Other programs provide alerts when potentially dangerous combinations of drugs are being prescribed. And clinical decision support systems can provide guidelines, and other reference information as prompts, linked to the normal clinical pages. |
