An
encephalitis warning system is needed for Central & North America. Sentinels
for the detection of virus invasions can be chicks, hamsters, etc. In the
event that these diseases are "too expensive" for sentinel maintenance, dead
horses always serve. The idea is to predict where the next outbreak of virus
X will go so that vaccinations can PRECEDE infections. Are sentinel systems only needed in rural areas ? No intent to protect horses and men ??!?! 1/ Protect men, 2/ Protect horses and 3/ Cut off the host supply for an invading virus. What about localizing where virus amplification is really going on? Influencial people will go on with assumptions since they lack facts. Who says # 3 works? |
