This part of the presentation focuses on my
genetic epidemiology research on type 1 diabetes. Examples of how absolute,
relative and attributable risks were estimated from my case control studies
are provided. These examples are not intended to replace risk estimates
generated from prospective studies, but illustrate how case control studies,
which are much more common than prospective studies, can be used for
clinical purposes. |
