I wanted to provide one recent patient example. This soldier was the victim of a mortar attack near one of the Level 3 hospitals. He arrived to the hospital in 10 minutes and was in the OR in 20 minutes. He was unstable and received 14 u PRBCs, 4 FFP and 8 units of whole blood and had multiple emergent amputations. He was transferred via CCATT and had a washout of his wounds in Germany and then was transferred via to Walter Reed Hospital arriving in 48 hours from injury. |
