The Cochrane Collaboration
The Collaboration prepares, promotes and maintains systematic reviews of the effects of health care interventions. The Cochrane Library provides free online access to abstracts of its systematic reviews. Access to the full text of systematic reviews is by subscription.
CONSORT
The CONSORT statement addresses the reporting of randomized controlled clinical trials. It is particularly pertinent to an assessment of the requirement of scientific validity in clinical research.
The Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE)
The Web site includes a consensus statement on misconduct in biomedical research, as well as a taxonomy of research misconduct related to publication practice.
Current Controlled Trials
This organization has developed a meta-register of controlled trials and the concept of a International Standard Randomised Controlled Trial Number (ISRCTN)
Uniform Requirements for Manuscripts Submitted to Biomedical Journals
This is formulated by the International Committee of Medical Journal Editors (Vancouver Group), and was recently amended to include a statement on publication ethics related to Sponsorship, Authorship and Accountability.
