Virtually all industrialized countries followed the pattern of epidemiologic transition described by Omran. During various periods of its history, Russia also followed this pattern, however in this lecture we will learn that Russia’s pattern of morbidity and mortality does not fit Omran’s theory perfectly. We will discuss these questions at the end of the lecture. There is no right or wrong answer to these questions.
