Obesity needs to be taken seriously both at an individual level and at a population level. Puritanical preaching is unhelpful and fatter people do not eat more than thin Obesity is a chronic illness and needs to be considered, cared for and treated as such-this may mean life long medication, bariatric surgery, blocking the absorption of fat. It should be a main line NHS service and not left to the Private sector.
At a population level Prevention Primary-Breast feeding, Child Care,Education Secondary-Monitor, advise, intervene early Tertiary-Established and funded health care Quarternary-Catering for fat people in society
