Chloroform in alveolar air depends on individual characteristics. Analysis of covariance was performed considering alveolar air concentration as a dependent variable, environmental levels and age as covariates and intensity of the sport activity as a factor. The total explained variance was 73.058% (F= 107.09, p<0.001), 58.35% accounted for chloroform in environmental air (F= 342.14, p<0.001) and 13.13% the age of the subjects and 5.11% for the intensity of the sport activity (F= 78.20 and F= 14.98, p<0.001 respectively). The Student Newman Keuls test showed a significant difference between competitive swimmers vs visitors (p<0.001). |
