Treatment: amphotericin B (neutropenic patients), fluconazole (nonneutropenic patients), caspofungin (a new drug - inhibitor of glucan synthesis - very promising because of low toxicity and good spectrum).

The bigest threat to the therapy is a development of strains resistant to fluconazole.
