Pretesting can be done in two stages…1^st on a convenience sample of your colleagues, friends; this is just to get an idea of the time it takes, the flow of the questions, etc.

2^nd phase of pretesting would be the more formal where the procedure (usually the questionnaire) is administered on approximately 10% of your sample size in a sample as similar as possible to the study participants BUT NOT IN THE SAME AREA.
