Our meeting started by Prof. Salah Soliman and Mrs. Layla Abdel Hady briefing us about the “Blogging against Climate Change Workshop” which was organized at the BA last week. They explained that the participants were taken on a field trip on the last day of the workshop to visit Edko, Rashid & KafrElsheikh to see the environmental disturbance that is done there due to the climate change and human negligence of the environment. Then, he talked about the Graduate Project held in Rashid for aiming to grant land and a house for a little amount of money, but most of these lands are salty so no crops can grow there.
Then, he gave a presentation about “Climate Change” clarifying that this era suffers from the worst environmental disaster ever and that the earth is at the peak of pollution. Prof. Soliman added that what separate us from the ice age is extra five degrees in temperature, so what could happen if the temperature increased five degrees more? A real environmental disasters could happen.
Afterwards, Miss Riham Abdelhamid gave a brief about the essay competition held by the Ministry of Youth and Sports of the Republic of Azerbaijan Announces Essay Competition “What do I know about Azerbaijan?” Attached in this e-mail are more information about it.
After that Mohamed Shawky, Amr Mamdouh and an Italian friend, Valentina gave a presentation about Siwa Festival. They tackled various details concerning this annual events which takes place in October such as its history, its different titles and rituals of celebration.
