Our meeting began with Dr. Salah Soliman talking briefly about Algore’s visit to Egypt and the speech he gave.
Then, Our guest speaker Dr. Bahaa Eldin Mansour, Manager of the Second Egyptian Project for Reporting Climate Change. He had a presentation entitled “Climate change and Industry in Egypt”. He explained the elements that have an impact on the environment and raise the temperature of the globe. He mentioned the industries producing most green house gases, and which have a major role in raising the temperature. USA for instance produces about 25% of green house gases in the world, while Egypt produces only 0.006%! Egypt is among the ones who will be seriously affected by the climate change. Then, he explained how we can adapt to the effects of this change by reducing the emission of gases and by using our resources more efficiently.
At the end, Ahmed El-Heity gave a small presentation about a carnival that takes place every Friday morning on the Cornish of Alexandria where people from all ages go cycling from AlMontaza to The Citadel clarifying that many people are now depending on a bicycle as a transportation in their everyday life.
