The “Higher Education Funding Opportunities in the Arab Region” or “HE Opportunities” is an On-line portal that serves Arab higher education students and institutions to learn about available higher education opportunities through an On-line Directory. Students can also benefit from an On-line training section that provides them with guidelines on the requirements of scholarships. Moreover, the Website users could interact with each other, as well as with donors through an On-line forum.

No, this Website is not a funding body and does not provide scholarships, grants or any other kind of support. The “HE Opportunities” facilitates knowing about available opportunities by showcasing them and guides fund-seekers how to access them.
You can either use the advanced search engine on the Homepage, or navigate the Donors page either by country or by organization name. Afterwards, it will be your responsibility to identify the opportunity that suites you from the List of Organizations that appears. You could also watch the illustrating video on the Homepage for additional information. In addition, you can check regularly the Announcements section, and the Project’s pages on Facebook and Twitter for upcoming deadlines.
Please read carefully each donor profile as each one of them has its own program, selection criteria and application procedures. You have to identify the program that is most suitable for you and that meets your needs and qualifications; then send your application following the donor’s guidelines.
The advanced search engine is illustrated through the four boxes available at the end of the Homepage. It assists you to narrow the results of your search for an opportunity by inserting your criteria. You can use that engine by selecting the criteria that apply to your personal situation in one or more categories, in at least one category group, then press "Go". You could also read the illustration preceding the advanced search and/or watch the video on the Homepage for illustration.
The Website is mainly designed to target higher education students and institutions in 13 Arab countries which are Algeria, Bahrain, Egypt, Jordan, Kuwait, Lebanon, Morocco, Oman, Palestine, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Tunisia, United Arab Emirates. However, if you have another nationality you could still benefit from this Website, as some donors located in the Directory provide their support to students from all over the Arab region.
The "Degree" and "Field of Study" boxes are ONLY active when “Scholarships” is selected under "Type of Support".
Unfortunately, the Project’s role ends at presenting the available opportunities for you. Then it becomes your responsibility to identify the program that is most suitable for you to apply for. Please note that any requests or applications for funding should be sent directly to the organizations listed in the Directory, NOT to this site as it will NOT help you contact these organizations. Instead, please follow the guidelines mentioned in the “Application Procedures” section for each donor.

This Website is presented in English as most of the funding bodies require that their applications be filled in English. Moreover, among the basic requirements of scholarships is in English score presented in exams, such as GMAT and TOEFL. Therefore, it is appropriate to provide the information and guidelines in English to support the visitors of this Website.
