The Bibliotheca Alexandrina launched the new Public Information Center on the 19th of July 2005, in collaboration with the World Bank.
The Public Information Center (PIC) is a focal point for providing access to the World Bank publications, reports, and other development-related materials.
The Documentation Center of the Bibliotheca Alexandrina has been a depository library for World Bank publications for
many
years, through which cooperation between the two organizations has been very fruitful.
The Public Information Center is not a conventional library that contains only books and publications
that serves mainly
researchers. It is a tool of disseminating knowledge, sharing development information and a resource where clients may find information on all development activities. At the same time, users are invited and encouraged to give their insights regarding these activities in lively interaction through workshops and roundtables.
