Perhaps
stakeholders and policy-makers in the various Tribal Councils and RHAs might
feel prevention efforts will provide a start. One goal might be to increase
immunization and breastfeeding.
Various Tribal Councils might learn from each other:
Why is life expectancy higher in one TC?
Why are amputation rates lower in another?
What are they doing differently?
Many such questions need to be addressed for the health of Manitoba’s
First Nations people to reach par with all other Manitobans. This study is
not an blueprint to that end - it’s more of a map pinpointing possible
places to start.
