This slide illustrates
the table that is used for odds ratio calculations.
Typically, 1 column is used for cases, the 2nd column
is for controls. The rows
relate to the presence/absence of the risk factor.
In this case, there are 3 levels of genetic susceptibility –
the presence of 0, 1 or 2 susceptibility haplotypes.
This makes it possible to estimate a ‘dose-response’ effect.
