As part of implementing the decision support element
of the model, the providers in both the main intervention group and
the provider education group attended one problem based learning
session. The session was
facilitated by an endocrinologist and a CDE and emphasized patient
problem solving and goal setting.
The second part of implementing this part of the
model was that all of the providers received their chart audit
results in the form of a report. The reports were reviewed by the
CDE in the main intervention group and the provider intervention
group using academic detailing.
