As THMs are of public health concern as they can be toxic and carcinogenic to humans it is important to develop the 4-step risk assessment process (hazard identification, exposure assessment, dose-response relationship and risk characterization). At the moment only exposure assessment to THMs in swimming pools has been deeply investigated and here it is reported.
