Influence
of R/ on the natural course of TB Poor socio-economic conditions, the presence of cavernous lesions, and
a positive family history were poor prognostic factors. 83% of the patients treated at
home (the very poor), died as did 86% of those treated in hospital (the very ill).
Sanatorium R/ was well subsidized by particular initiatives (funds and charities), but a
contribution was necessary. Sanatorium R/ also knew a considerable mortality rate of 55%,
although not as high as the other 2 groups. |
