In February
1996, the San Andres Accords were signed between the government and EZLN.
The Zapatistas have tried to motivate international resistance and
coordinate with the global justice movement. They seem successful.
Successful agricultural production has many components such as superb mechanization and good transportation. Soil erosion including phosphate and nitrogen depletion and lack of rainfall at perhaps 400 mm/yr are extraordinary deterents in some prominent parts of Latin America. |
