Let’s start then by considering whether intervention with
risk factors may be the answer to reducing diabetic cardiovascular mortality. UKPDS

cardiovascular risk. Patients were randomized after 3 month running on diet alone
either intensive therapy with insulin or sulfhonylureas or conventional therapy,
