regulatory scrutiny? Although this question would seem to be a clearly business oriented one, governmental agencies and non-governmental organizations have very similar concerns. Negative news coverage on the front page is bad for business; in government it is embarrassing for the elected officials responsible for the agency – and that will have repercussions. Similarly businesses do not like to have regulatory agencies attracted to their problems. For government agencies, legislative or audit agency investigations are equally negative and distracting. |
