Dr. Ueshima,
Professor and Chairman, Department of Health Science, Shiga University Medical Science,
graduated from Medical School in 1971. Dr. Ueshima researched at Northwestern University in 1981-82. Since then, he
has collaborated with Dr. Jeremiah Stamler
in international cardiovascular epidemiological studies such as INTERSALT and INTERMAP. Dr. Ueshima serves as Principal Investigator in many cardiovascular epidemiological studies, including NIPPON DATA and lifestyle intervention on high risk group for CVD. Dr. Ueshima served as chairperson, scientific committee program, 5th International Conference on Preventive Cardiology held in Osaka, Japan 2001. |
