This table compares the results of the Cox model and Esteve’s model, which are both restricted by the PH assumption. This Table shows that the effects of gender and age appear much weaker in the relative survival analyses than in the Cox model analyses : the effect of gender and of the middle age even lose their statistical significance with the Esteve’s model. On the contrary, the effects of cancer stage and of the period of diagnosis are stronger in the relative survival analysis than in the Cox model analysis.
