More and more research is
pointing out the similarities between AD and other neurodegenerative diseases. For
instance, many patients with Parkinson’s Disease develop dementia and have
neurofibrillary tangles and amyloid plaques. Because the number of patients that show signs of both AD and Parkinson’s is so high, some researchers have suggested that they are the same disease occurring over a broad spectrum. |
