Hathor ‘The Lady of Turquoise’ in the Nile DeltaTextual Evidences
The aim of this study is to discuss the presence of the goddess Hathor ‘Lady of turquoise’ in the Nile Delta’. The cult of Hathor of ‘Lady of Turquoise’ in the Nile Delta flourished in the eastern part due the location of Wadi Tumilat on the road to turquoise mines in Sinai. On the other part of the Nile Delta, i.e. the western edge, a temple was dedicated to her cult. The cult of Hathor influenced the name of the city where she was venerated.The author will try to shed the light on the textual evidences that correlate the worship of Hathor ‘Lady of turquoise’ with the Nile Delta. As well as the author will discuss the reasons for which the worship of Hathor ‘Lady of turquoise’ was flourished in the Nile Delta.
