Writing on Clay Tablets in Dakhla Oasis: 25 years of research in the Egyptian archive from Balat.

From 1977 onwards, the French excavations near the modern village of Balat brought to light several hundreds of clay tablets, used as writing material by local administrative staff in the last quarter of the 3rd millenium BC (end of the Old Kingdom-First Intermediate Period). An overview of the site and of the different archive collections will be given before analyzing the specific features of these documents.
