PROGRAM GOAL:
Provides opportunities for Egyptian post-doctoral faculty members, professionals, and independent scholars to conduct research at American institutions. Grant duration ranges from three to nine months.
ELIGIBLE FIELDS: ALL fields are eligible with the EXCEPTION of medicine, dentistry and veterinary medicine.
GRANT TYPES: Lecturing/Research Grants at Selected American Universities: For scholars in the fields of: Materials Science, Laser, High Performance Computing, Parallel Programming, Computer Systems, Bioinformatics, Computational Biology. Awards are jointly funded by the Commission and its partner institutions.
Research Grants: For scholars in the humanities, sciences, or social sciences to conduct research at American institutions.
Arts Management Grants: Professionals in arts management and administration to pursue individual and/or structured programs of study designed to enhance their managerial capabilities
ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA:
- Egyptian citizenship; holders of U.S. green cards and/or passports are ineligible
- Ph.D., except for the Arts Management grants
- College or university teaching experience at the level and in the field of the proposed lecturing activity as specified in the award description at the time of application
- Excellent command of English
Important Note for Fulbright alumni: maximum number of basic Fulbright grants is limited to two in a lifetime. Short-term grant (two months or less shall count as ½ of a basic Fulbright grant.
