The Deterioration of the Bulaq Press
The years between 1881 and 1896 witnessed a recession of the activities of the Press. No additions or renovations were made to update the machinery or the production process. The Press totally deteriorated and was even shutdown during Orabi's Revolution and the British occupation.
It was not until the year 1956, when the late President Gamal Abdel Nasser issued a Presidential Decree forming the General Organization for Government Printing Offices, affiliating it to the Ministry of Economy . The Bulaq Press was supplied with the most advanced printing machines and new departments were established
The Bulaq Press is still providing printing services within Egypt and throughout the Arabic world.
