The Foundation Text of the Bulaq Press in Turkish (1235 AH / 1820 AD). This is the only document that states the date of establishing the Press. This green marble plaque was originally hung on the entrance to the Press at the time of its establishment. The plaque, 110 cm long and 55 cm wide, bears three verses inscribed in golden Turkish letters, the translation of which is as follows: "The present Egyptian Khedive Muhammad Ali, the pride of our religion and state, donor of great endowments, has yet increased his uncountable gifts with establishing a printing house that has come out in its beautiful and extraordinary form. The poet Said believes that a printing house is the source of true art.”
