Ms. Heba Mostafa

Biography:

 

Heba Mostafa is a First Secretary at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Egypt (cabinet of the Assistant Foreign Minister for International Organisations).
Mostafa joined the ministry in 2002, and since then has been assigned a number of files relevant to the work of specialised agencies of the United Nations, and human rights. From 2004-2008, she was a desk officer on intellectual property and health issues, during which period she contributed to the establishment and functioning of the National Committee on Intellectual Property. She also participated in negotiations within the World Intellectual Property Organisation leading up to the adoption of the WIPO Development Agenda. In her capacity as member of the Egyptian delegation to the United Nations in Geneva from December 2008 to January 2013, Mostafa was assigned the human rights file, in particular economic, social and cultural rights, and the right to development, encompassing the right to health, in addition to following in general terms the latest discussions on intellectual property and health issues.
Mostafa holds a master’s degree in international relations from the American University in Cairo, a bachelor’s degree in Journalism and Mass Communications, with minor studies in international relations, from the American University in Cairo, and a bachelor’s degree in Accounting from the Faculty of Commerce (English Section)-Ain Shams University.
