North and South - Phase III (Nile Cruise along the Cities of Luxor and Aswan)

Within the framework of the program Support to Cultural Diversity and Creativity in Egypt, “North and South” team arrived in Aswan on Friday, the 27th of February to complete the 3rd phase of their journey. The journey, which was launched on the 20th of February, started from Alexandria where participants spent three days, after which they headed to Cairo to spend 4 days, and hence completing its first two phases.
Taking its participants thousands years into the past, the 3rd phase of "North and South", took the form of a 7-day Nile cruise along the cities of Luxor and Aswan, the cradle of the Pharaonic era. As an essential part of the journey, the visit to Luxor and Aswan allowed the participants to experience actual interaction with the ancient Egyptian civilization and to explore the heritage of cities on the Nile banks.
During the cruise participants visited numerous landmarks of Luxor and Aswan which displayed the grandeur and glory of the ancient Egyptian civilization. These included: the Nubian village, Abu Simbel temples, the temple of Horus in Edfu, the Valley of Kings, the Temple of Hatshepsut, the Karnak temple, Luxor temple, Dendera Temple, the Temple of Kom Ombo, Aswan International Sculpture Symposium and the island of Philae.
The visit to Luxor and Aswan was concluded on the 5th of March, 2015. On the next day, Friday the 6th of March, participants left Aswan to return to Alexandria, for the fourth and final phase of the journey, where they will spend 6 days at the Bibliotheca Alexandrina to finalize and submit the artworks they have been working on throughout the journey.
