The Bibliotheca Alexandrina (BA) launched the closing conference of the Support to Cultural Diverity and Creativity in Egypt program this morning at the Bibliotheca Alexandrina Conference Center. The program, which started two years earlier in November 2013, is a joint project between the Bibliotheca Alexandrina (BA) and European Union (EU). Held under the title of “Suggestions for a Framework of a National Cultural Policy in Egypt”, the conference extends over a period of three days; from 14 to 16 Novemeber.

The program, which started two years earlier in November 2013, is a joint project between the Bibliotheca Alexandrina (BA) and European Union (EU). Held under the title of “Suggestions for a Framework of a National Cultural Policy in Egypt”, the conference extends over a period of three days; from 14 to 16 November.Following the opening speeches, the first session served as a review of the achievements realized through the program. The session was chaired by Dr. Sameh Fawzy; Director of the BA Center for Development Studies, and was opened with a speech by Engineer Hoda El Mikaty; the Action Director and the Head of the BA Cultural Outreach Sector, where a quick review of the program and its objectives was established.
Support to Cultural Diversity and Creativity in Egypt program concluded its 7th Creativity Youth Forum “Visual Arts: Relief Printing Workshop (Linocut)”, yesterday the 30th of July, at Bayt Al-Sinnari in Sayeda Zeniab district, in Cairo. The workshop emerges as the seventh event implemented under the Creativity Youth Forums initiative which aims to connect young people from different governorates and build their capacity to work together, in promotion of cultural heritage.
Within the framework of the Support to Cultural Diversity and Creativity in Egypt program, the Bibliotheca Alexandrina organized a new cultural debate under the theme of “Foreign Cultural Institutions in Egypt; Challenges and Achievements”, at the Swedish Institute in Alexandria. Twenty-six officials, diplomats and public figures participated in the debate; including cultural attachés of various foreign embassies in Egypt, and directors of several cultural centers and programs.
Within the framework of the Support to Cultural Diversity and Creativity in Egypt program, the Bibliotheca Alexandrina organized a new Creativity Youth Forum under the theme of “Photography”, between the 19th to the 21st of May 2015, at Bayt Al-Sinnari in Cairo. The forum emerges as the sixth event implemented under the Creativity Youth Forums project, which aims at connecting young people from different governorates and build their capacity to work together, in promotion of cultural heritage.
Support to Cultural Diversity and Creativity in Egypt is witnessing an outburst of activity as it is near completion. The program which started in November 2013, is a joint project between the Bibliotheca Alexandrina and European Union. It aims to broaden the scope of cultural projects in Egypt, and to promote artistic and cultural education. The program is expected to conclude its events in November 2015 with a three-day high-profile conference that is to be held at the Bibliotheca Alexandrina. The Conference will showcase the efforts and results of the program, and will be attended by a large and diversified number of local and international participants.
In collaboration with the European Union, and within the framework of the program Support to Cultural Diversity and Creativity in Egypt, the Bibliotheca Alexandrina (BA) has organized a cultural debate yesterday, the 22nd of March, under the theme of “Cultural Change in the Egyptian Countryside”.
Within the framework of the program Support to Cultural Diversity and Creativity in Egypt, the Bibliotheca Alexandrina is organizing a cultural debate under the theme of “The Culture of Upper Egypt: A Rediscovery for the Future”. The debate will be held on Thursday the 5th of March at Assiut University.
In collaboration with the European Union, and within the framework of the program Support to Cultural Diversity and Creativity in Egypt, the Bibliotheca Alexandrina is organizing a cultural debate under the theme of “Cultural Particularity of Delta: A Vision for Interaction”. The debate will be hosted by Books and Beans Foundation, in Mansoura, on Wednesday the 11th of February, at 11:00 a.m.
In collaboration with the European Union, and within the framework of the program Support to Cultural Diversity and Creativity in Egypt, the Bibliotheca Alexandrina is organizing four workshops on (theater, music, cinema, and visual arts) for the children of public schools. The workshops are to be carried out in the period between 24th to the 27th of November, 2014.
