'Diabetes Supercourse for the Middle East and North African Region' (MENA)is a collaboration between the Bibliotheca Alexandrina (BA)and the WHO Collaborating Center at the University of Pittsburgh and it is supported by the World Diabetes Foundation (WDF). The two principle co-investigators of the Diabetes Supercourse Project are Dr.Ismail Serageldin, Director of the Bibliotheca Alexandrina and Dr. Ronald Laporte, Director of the WHO Collaborating Center at the University of Pittsburgh.
The proposed program is not a research program. Instead it is translational, where the BA will work to bring the best scientific research on prevention to the diabetes community. One cannot prevent diabetes and its complications effectively unless one has knowledge about the science of prevention, which the Supercourse is designed to do.
