Dear Friends,
Well, welcome aboard!
The Diabetes Supercourse for the MENA (Middle East North Africa) Region project has been going on for some time now and the great news is that our diabetes network is expanding remarkably! We have over 500 members, mainly from the MENA region. We still have a lot more to go before we have every diabetes stakeholder on our list. Whether they are clinicians, researchers, nurses, students, health educators, or working in academia, everybody is welcome!
Some of you have submitted some very distinguished diabetes lectures. They are definitely a valuable contribution to this network of diabetes knowledge. We now have over 70 lectures posted, and would very much like your further input. (For posting your lectures, please contact Fayrouz.Ashour@bibalex.org)
We have some exciting news that we would like to share with all of you:
On the 14th of November, celebrating the first United Nations (UN) observed World Diabetes Day, the Bibliotheca Alexandrina (BA) will hold a summit meeting where various representatives of health care authorities, International Diabetes Federation Regional Chairman, World Health Organization Regional Director, and NGO representatives (as the President of Assistance to Youngsters with Diabetes NGO) will give a declaration of joint efforts to express their collaboration with the international community in the efforts to effect the UN recommendations of combating diabetes. The BA will be lit up in the color of the World Diabetes Day logo on that day along with many landmark monuments in the region:
