UNESCO, the International Federation for Library Associations and Institutions (IFLA), and the National Forum on Information Literacy (NFIL) are co-sponsoring an international meeting of information literacy and lifelong learning experts drawn from all six of the major geographic regions of the world, for the purpose of sharing ideas and promising approaches on how information literacy is being introduced and implemented in their respective regions and countries. From the discussions hopefully a consensus can be reached as to the most promising ideas and approaches that could have broader application and utility beyond a single region or country, and be utilized and extended into multiple regions and countries, and, perhaps in a few instances, be adopted worldwide. |
