Location & Hours

The Library is open to public on Saturdays 12 noon to 4 pm and Sunday to Thursday 11am to 7pm. Fridays are closed.

Usage of Print Collection

Books, magazines, journals, musical scores, etc. are for the use of all library patrons. Please do not take large numbers of books at one time so that others may use them, respect the value and integrity of a book, PLEASE no cutting out pages, nor removing entire sections from library materials , no highlighting, underlining or marking in any way in the library's books, magazines, or scores.

To better meet it's patrons needs, the Arts & Multimedia library regularly performs statistical analyses on what types of materials are most used. To assist the library staff in this, please do not return any item to the shelf after you are through with as Library staff regularly and promptly reshelf books left on tables in the study areas. If you cannot find an item you are looking for on the shelf, refer to the Information desk.


Usage of Non Print Collection

Many of the AV materials held by the Arts & Multimedia Library are delicate and must be handled with care. Users are not to bring AV materials of their own or from other sources into the Arts & Multimedia Library

Usage of Equipment

Because it is very difficult and costly to maintain the equipment, hacking or altering equipment settings, writing on, scratching, or in any way damaging any equipment, materials, furniture, or premises is prohibited.

  • General policy for AV equipment:

    • Audio-Visual equipment is for individual use only. No more than one person at a time will be allowed to use the AV equipment.
    • To avoid disturbing other library patrons, the use of headphones is required when using any AV equipment.
    • AV equipment is available by reservation only. Reservations are made at the information desk.
    • Please report all technical problems or equipment failures to the Information Desk immediately.

  • Special policy for each equipment:

    1- PC's

    • Please do not reboot the PCs
    • Computers are for viewing AV materials or for browsing the internet. Please do not use them for chatting, games, or others restricted activities. (see Main library policy for more details)
    • Internet browsing PCs can be reserved for up to one hour per day for each user.
    • PCs for watching DVDs or self teaching materials are reserved for the duration of the selected material.
    • PC reservations are not renewable.

    2- Videotape Players

    • Rooms equipped with a Videotape Player are restricted to the use of educational materials (kits).

    3- TV Satellite

    • Remote Controls should be checked out and returned to the information desk after you finish your session.
Material Reservation
  • To reserve AV materials, users must leave their personal ID card or passport at the Information desk of the Arts & Multimedia Library. Users must return the AV material to the Information desk to retrieve their IDs
  • AV material may not be removed from the Arts & Multimedia Library.
  • By reserving an AV item, the library user assumes responsibility for that item should it become lost, damaged or overdue.


Usage of Individual Study Rooms
  • Rooms are available for study purposes only. Tutorials may not be held in the study rooms.
  • To reserve a study room, users must leave their personal ID card or passport at the Information desk of the Arts & Multimedia Library. and take it back when the reservation is ended.
  • Study room lights must remain on.
  • Any damage to the furniture, fixtures, or equipment in the Rooms should be reported to the main Circulation Counter at once. In case of misuse or negligence, users will be held responsible for the total cost incurred for repair or replacement.
  • To avoid disturbing other library patrons, headphones must be used in the study rooms.
  • After using the satellite TV study room, please return the remote control to the information desk.
  • Please do not lock the study rooms from inside.
  • Please do not use cell phones in the study rooms.
  • Rooms are not transferable and are not to be shared.
  • Satellite TV study rooms can be reserved for only one hour, but can be renewed depending on room availability.
  • The other study rooms are reserved depending on the duration of the AV material (video- tapes, DVD's etc ) to be viewed.
  • If the user desires to break his/her session in a study room for some reason and return back , he/ she should notify the circulation desk desk librarian so that he/she may lock the room for the user until he/she returns from the break.
  • Users are responsible for leaving the rooms clean.
  • Please remove all personal belongings from the room before returning the key to the Circulation Counter. The Library will remove anything left behind with the presence of a witness. No prior notice will be given.

 

Usage of Group Study Rooms
  • Group Study Rooms are not available for individual use.
  • To reserve a group study room, the subject matter of the research should be related to the Arts & Multimedia Library Collection. The organizer of the research group must leave his or her personal ID card or passport at the Information Desk while using the group study room is in use
  • The maximum number of users allowed in a group study room depends on the size of the room. For large rooms, up to eight people are allowed, for medium rooms, the limit is four.
  • The maximum reservation time is 2 hours per group.
  • Please do not lock study room from inside.
  • Please do not use cell phones in the study rooms.
  • Reservations of study rooms are not transferable between groups.
  • Group Study Rooms are available on a first-come, first-serve basis.
  • The library is not responsible for loss or theft of personal property. If you leave the room unattended, you risk the loss of your possessions.
  • Food and drink (including coffee) are not allowed in study rooms.
  • Users are responsible for leaving the rooms clean. [NO Litter Please ]
  • Please remove all personal belongings from the room before returning the key to the Circulation Counter. The Library will remove anything left behind with the presence of a witness. No prior notice will be given.

  • Be considerate. Noise and voices must be kept to the lowest possible level.
  • Personal digital cameras may be used without fees.
