Borrowing Materials
Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ) about Borrowing Library materials
What kinds of library materials can I borrow?
Currently you can only borrow books except for non circulating books (labeled NC) and reference materials (Labeled Ref.). Materials in other formats (video tapes, audio tapes, CDs, etc) cannot be borrowed.
How do I borrow materials?
All you need is an annual library membership. Then you can go to the young people library’s reference desk to check out the book you need.
How many books can I borrow and for how long?
You can borrow only 1 book at a time, for up to two weeks. After the two weeks, you may be able to renew the item for an additional two weeks if someone else has not reserved the book. After the additional two weeks, you must return the book to the library.
What if the book I want is checked out?
You can register a request to reserve a checked out book so that when the book is returned, we will hold it for you and notify you by e-mail or phone. You can check the status of your requests online if it is available. To request us to hold a book for you, you can contact us by phone or by e-mail, and a librarian will be happy to assist you.
How can I renew an item I borrowed?
Borrowed items can be renewed for a second loan period if they have not been requested by another patron. Renewals are requested in person, via the online catalog link, or by phone or e-mail.
Overdue materials may not be renewed by phone
Overdue materials may be renewed after the fine is paid
