Improving the health status of people is the common goal of epidemiologists and health educators. Epidemiologists can tell us which health problems are objectively important in terms of morbidity, disability and mortality and which factors contribute to the existence of these problems.

If we know potential causes and if we know which problems can be tackled with Health Promotion, we can focus on those problems.
