This lecture introduces the Doctor-Patient relationship (DPR) as a key component of good clinical practice. Different ways of considering the DPR and different types of DPR can tell us a lot about why some doctors are more effective than others. Attention to the quality of the DPR can significantly increase the level of patient satisfaction with care and also the doctor’s job satisfaction.
