An effective MMRS
system is dependent on enhanced communications both to 1)recognize that an event has occurred 2) to deploy medical personnel 3) to access reliable information 4) to obtain outside support and 5) to make the very best decisions based on the latest technology and science We are fortunate that under a partnership between the University of Pittsburgh and Carnegie Mellon University, known as the Bio Medical Security Institute, we have already begun to build a virtual, collaborative workstation, that allows us to use the internet for training, conferencing and providing real-time updates on the status of health and medical facilities as events unfold. |
